Club Fishing Competitions
The StGeorge and Sutherland Shire fishing club runs many different competitions through out the year. The Fishing calendar has the times and its recommended to monitor facebook for any last minute changes (sever weather etc). Here is a run-down of what we do for all members.
This is a annual contest, where points are awarded for ALL other competitions, special days, fish-of-the-month. At the end of the year, the points are tallied up, and awarded as:
CLUB CHAMPION
VETERAN CHAMPION
LADY CHAMPION
JUNIOR CHAMPION
as well as various spot awards.
These competitions come with trophies, so names are immortalised forever. Trophies are awarded at the end-of-year trophy presentation.
These are focused on a specific fishing type/place in order to stretch peoples skills and try new things. These include:
BEACH COMPETITION
DEEP-SEA COMPETITION
ESTUARY COMPETITION
ROCK COMPETITION
These run on specific weekends with all members encourages to fish to the type of competitions running. Winners (largest, largest catch, most fish), are awarded prizes at the following general meeting.
Also to stretch peoples skills, over each of the 12 months, we have a species of the month. This competition runs all month for a specific species, with anyone being able to submit a brag-mat photo to be eligible. The General meetings during the month, typically included hints and tips for the fish-of-the-month. These months cover:
WHITING
KINGFISH
SNAPPER
etc.
Winners are awarded a prise on the next general meetings. We also have several Annual Trophies for specific species (largest).

GEORGE SMITH MEMORIAL TROPHY. LARGEST ESTUARY BREAM OFFICIAL

During the year the club also arranges special trips, depending on the fishing available and weather patters. These are also run as competitions with both prizes and annual awards. These include:
